The Rainmaker chants and scatters his bones all around
But the moon only laughs and continues to shine on the ground
There's no water about just the tears of a girl standing out...
In the crowd, looking on...
Looking on.

She's walked many miles over dusty and hot thirsty land
She's heard all the talk of this wonderful medicine man
But his magic has gone, drying up like the bones in the sand
It's a bad rainmaker blues.
Rainmaker blues.

But she can read the pain in his eyes
She can feel all the things he feels
Feeling his lonely barren nights
And when his power goes away
And when he can't control the rain
She knows the simple fact of life
Without some love the magic dies

There's a spell in the night as the girl starts to sing out the blues
And the Witch Doctor cries hypnotised by her wonderful tune
As his tears start to fall, clouds above seem to hijack the moon
And then soon, the rain starts to fall
